Getty — Relevant Experience
My connection to the Getty includes planting-design work on the Getty Villa renovation with Denis Kurutz Associates and more recent proposal leadership with Hoerr Schaudt. These experiences sit within a broader practice spanning cultural landscapes, public spaces, urban infrastructure, and residential gardens.
Getty Villa — Planting Design
Planting design for the Getty Villa renovation with Denis Kurutz Associates (2000–2002), through Design Development and the first half of Construction Documents. The renovation reopened in 2006; Machado and Silvetti were project architects, and Korn Randolph continued the landscape work after Denis Kurutz’s death in 2003.
Getty CORE — Proposal Leadership
As project manager for Hoerr Schaudt’s Getty CORE proposal, I helped organize the pursuit and present the team’s approach to the Getty and Frank Gehry’s office.
Supporting Projects
Landscape design lead and project manager for Phase 1 of Kansas City’s riverfront district; multidisciplinary public-realm coordination.
Landscape design and detail development for China’s first high-speed-railway TOD; international project management across Chinese, Japanese and German collaborators.
Schematic pond design and project scheduling for a 1,500-acre community in Idaho; coordination across architect, client, and specialists.
Institutional Relationships
Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)
Invited, through a long-standing relationship, to a private short list for the landscape installation of Jeff Koons’ Split Rocker (qualifications stage; not a secured commission).
University of Southern California (USC)
Brought the opportunity to Hoerr Schaudt; USC requested that the firm register for consideration for future campus work. Placement on the approved providers list not confirmed; no guaranteed appointment.
